Testing

Many patients are afraid to see an allergist. Most allergists test by sticking patients with many needles. We don't. Our five tools for most patient evaluations are:

• A complete medical history. We will ask you to complete a five page medical history. You do this at home before seeing us. This allows you time to think about themany sysmptoms and other factors that effect you. Our doctor will then expand on this medical history in your interview.
  
  
• Skin Testing. We do not use needles. We use painless tines which will challenge your skin to test for HISTAMINE release.
  
  
• IgE. In most patients , we will test your blood for IgE.
  
  
• Sinus X-Rays. We will take x-rays of your sinuses and measure the effect of HISTAMINE on your nasal passages and sinuses.
  
  
• Pulmonary Testing. Patients with symptoms such as chronic cough, wheezing or difficulty breathing during exercise will have specific testing of their breathing capacity and lung function.
